The Sort Utilities stack inserts itself in the message-passing order and displays a floating palette which performs various sorting operations on other stacks.
Stack sorting can be done on a background, on the whole stack, or on marked cards. Field line or item sorting can always be done on the current card. For background fields, the contents in the current card, the current background, or the whole stack may be sorted. The sort method is ascending alphabetical text or numeric, depending on the nature of the data.
Some functions require HyperCard 2.1, since they use the itemdelimiter property. This collection of sort routines is not exhaustive, it merely performs some of the more orthodox procedures for handling some of the more likely situations.
